Configure Unique Alternate Hreflang Tags for Categories and Products
With the Alternate Hreflang Tags extension, you can now also link product and category pages across different store views, just like CMS pages.
This allows search engines to understand which localized version of a product or category page should appear in each region or language.

Linking Unconnected Products Across Store Views
If you want to link products that are not directly connected by the same product ID across different store views, you can easily connect them using a unique SKU with our Product Linking System. This SKU value is only used once during setup. If it’s not configured, the shared product ID across store views will be used by default.
Steps to configure:
- Open the product you want to link.
- Create a new product by selecting Add new if it doesn’t exist yet.
- Assign a unique SKU that you will use for linking and click Save.
Next, open the product in another store view that you want to link, select or enter the same SKU value, and click Save.
This will link your Magento products across store views and automatically generate the correct hreflang tags for these linked product pages.

Linking Categories Across Store Views
If you want to link a category that isn’t directly connected by the same category ID across different store views, you can easily link them using our Category System. This value is only used once during setup. If it’s not configured, the shared category ID across store views will be used by default.
Steps to configure:
- Open the category you want to connect.
- Create a new category by selecting Add new.
- Enter a name and click Save configuration.
Next, go to the category you want to link, select the dropdown value you’ve just created, and click Save.
This will link your Magento category to the manually selected category and automatically generate the corresponding hreflang tags.
