Configuration Guide
Here's where you'll find all the settings for Google Merchant Reviews. This guide explains what each option does and when you'd want to use it. The module has two main features: the survey opt-in (shown after checkout) and the review badge (shown on all pages). Both require your Google Merchant ID.

Location: Stores → Configuration → Magmodules → Google Merchant Reviews
General
Enabled
Master switch for the entire module. When disabled, neither the survey opt-in nor the badge will appear.
Survey Email Opt-In
This section controls the opt-in dialog that appears on the checkout success page. When customers opt-in, Google sends them a review survey email after their estimated delivery date.
Enabled
Shows or hides the survey opt-in dialog on the checkout success page.
When to use:
- Enable when you want to collect Google seller ratings
- Disable temporarily if you're experiencing issues or during high-traffic sales
MerchantID
Your Google Merchant Center ID. Required for the opt-in to function.
How to find it:
- Go to Google Merchant Center
- Click the settings icon (gear)
- Your Merchant ID is displayed at the top
Style
Controls how the opt-in dialog appears to customers.
Options:
- Center Dialog - Centered popup, high visibility
- Bottom Right Dialog - Less intrusive, corner position
- Bottom Left Dialog - Corner position, left side
- Top Right Dialog - Upper corner position
- Top Left Dialog - Upper corner position, left side
- Bottom Tray - Full-width bar at bottom
Recommendation: Center Dialog for maximum visibility, or Bottom Right Dialog for a less intrusive experience.
Days for Deliver
The number of days you expect shipping + delivery to take. Google uses this to calculate when to send the survey email.
When to use:
- Set to your average delivery time
- If you have variable shipping (express vs standard), use your most common option
- Range: 0-100 days
Example: If orders typically arrive within 3-5 business days, set this to 5.
Add Product Data to Survey
When enabled, product information (GTINs) is included with the opt-in. This allows Google to collect product-level reviews in addition to seller reviews.
When to use:
- Enable if you want product reviews in Google Shopping
- Only useful if your products have valid GTINs
- Requires the GTIN Attribute setting below
GTIN Attribute
Select which product attribute contains your GTIN (Global Trade Item Number) data. Only appears when "Add Product Data to Survey" is enabled.
When to use:
- Select the attribute where you store EAN, UPC, or ISBN codes
- Common attributes:
ean,gtin,upc,barcode
Google Review Badge
This section controls the floating badge that displays your Google seller rating.
Enabled
Shows or hides the review badge on your store.
When to use:
- Enable to display your seller rating and build trust
- You need existing Google reviews for the badge to show meaningful data
MerchantID
Your Google Merchant Center ID. Can be the same as the opt-in Merchant ID.
???? Tip: If you use the same Merchant ID for both features, you still need to enter it in both places.
Position
Where the badge appears on your pages.
Options:
- Bottom Right - Floating in lower-right corner (most common)
- Bottom Left - Floating in lower-left corner
- Inline - Embedded in page content (requires theme integration)
Recommendation: Bottom Right is the standard position that visitors expect.
Language
The language for the badge text and interface.
When to use:
- Match your store's primary language
- For multi-language stores, configure per store view
Testing & Logging
Test Mode
Enables testing features without affecting live customers. When enabled, you can preview the badge and opt-in via direct links shown in the admin.
When to use:
- During initial setup
- When troubleshooting issues
- Always disable before going live
Debug Mode
Writes detailed logs for debugging purposes.
Log locations:
var/log/google_merchant_reviews/debug.log- Debug informationvar/log/google_merchant_reviews/error.log- Errors (always logged)
When to use:
- When troubleshooting issues
- Disable in production to reduce log file size
Self-Test
Runs automated checks on your configuration. Available via:
- Button in admin configuration
- CLI:
bin/magento shopreview:googlereviews:selftest
What it checks:
- Module enabled status
- PHP version compatibility
- Magento version compatibility
- Extension version
