How Inventory Management Works in the Magento 2 Amazon Integration

The Magmodules Amazon plugin for Magento 2 offers full integration with Amazon Marketplace, including real-time inventory updates. Stock quantities are synchronized using the Offer Profile, which sends product data, price, and inventory levels directly to Amazon.

Inventory Sync Logic

• Stock is taken from the Magento default or configured stock attribute.
• Only products included in the active Offer Profile are updated.
• Updates can be triggered manually or automatically via cron.
• When product stock changes in Magento (e.g. order placed or stock updated), it will be synced to Amazon.

How Offers Work

Each Offer Profile exports a batch of product data to Amazon. This includes:

• SKU
• Availability status (in stock / out of stock)
• Inventory quantity
• Price and currency

These values are used by Amazon to update your listings in near real-time. No manual stock adjustments on Amazon are needed.

Automatic Sync (Cron)

By enabling the cron schedule, the plugin automatically keeps your Amazon listings in sync with your Magento inventory every few minutes or hours depending on your settings.

Tips for Stable Inventory

• Use a single source of truth (Magento) for inventory across all platforms.
• Make sure product SKUs match between Magento and Amazon.
• Test your offer profile using sandbox mode before enabling on production.
