Configure Google Product Reviews in Magento 2

This is the quick start guide for Google Product Review Feed. We'll get your review feed up and running in about 5 minutes. You'll configure the basic settings, map your product identifiers, and generate your first feed. Make sure you have some approved product reviews in Magento before starting.

Get Google Product Review Feed running in 5 minutes.

Prerequisites

• Module installed and enabled
• Cache cleared
• Approved product reviews in Magento (Marketing → User Content → Reviews)
• GTIN/EAN attribute configured on products (recommended)

Step 1: Enable the Module

Navigate to: Stores → Configuration → Magmodules → Google Product Review Feed

In the General section:

• Set Enabled to Yes

Step 2: Configure Data Settings

In the Data section:

Feed Defaults:

• Publisher: Enter your store/company name (e.g., "My Store")
• Collection Method: Select how reviews are collected
  • Post Fulfillment - if you request reviews after order delivery
  • Unsolicited - if reviews are submitted voluntarily

Product Attributes:

• GTIN: Select the attribute containing your EAN/UPC codes
• Product Name: Usually name (default)
• Brand: Select your brand attribute if available

Step 3: Enable Feed Generation

In the Feed Generation Settings section:

• Enable: Yes
• Filename: Leave default or customize (e.g., google-reviews.xml)
• Use Cron: Yes (recommended for automatic updates)
• Cron Frequency: Daily at 0:00 (sufficient for most stores)

Save the configuration.

Step 4: Generate Your First Feed

Option A - Via Admin:

1. Scroll to Google Product Ratings - Feeds section
2. Click Generate next to your store

Option B - Via CLI:

bin/magento google-product-reviews:feed:create

Step 5: Verify and Submit

1. Download or preview the generated feed
2. Check it contains your reviews with product data
3. Submit the feed URL to Google Merchant Center:
   • Go to Merchant Center → Growth → Product Reviews
   • Add your feed URL

Verification Checklist

• Module enabled
• Publisher name set
• GTIN attribute mapped
• Feed generation enabled
• First feed generated successfully
• Feed contains reviews with product identifiers
