Manage Google Reviews Locations in Magento 2
This guide covers connecting your Google Business account and managing locations in Google Business Reviews. The module uses OAuth to securely connect to your Google Business Profile, allowing automatic review imports without manual API configuration.
Location: Marketing → Google Reviews → Accounts
Connecting Your Google Business Account
Step 1: Create a New Account
- Go to Marketing → Google Reviews → Accounts
- Click Add New Account
- Enter an Account Name for frontend display (e.g., "Amsterdam Store" or your company name)
- Click Save
Step 2: Grant Access
After saving, a Grant Access button appears:
- Click Grant Access
- You'll be redirected to Google's environment
- Sign in with the Google account that manages your Business Profile
Tip: Make sure you're logged into the correct Google account before clicking Grant Access. The account must have management rights to the Google Business Profile.
Step 3: Complete OAuth Authorization
On the Google consent screen:
- Review the requested permissions
- Grant access to read your business reviews
- You'll be redirected back to Magento
Once connected, the account status changes to Connected and your locations become available.
Managing Locations
After connecting, the module automatically fetches your Google Business locations.
Selecting Locations
- Go to Marketing → Google Reviews → Accounts
- Open your connected account
- Select which locations to import reviews from
- Click Save
Multi-Location Setup
For businesses with multiple locations:
- All locations linked to your Google Business account are automatically available
- Select specific locations per account
- Use location filters in widgets to show relevant reviews per store view
- Different store views can display reviews from different locations
Account Status
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Connected | OAuth active, reviews can be imported |
| Not Connected | Grant Access required |
| Error | Connection issue, re-authorize required |
Re-authorizing an Account
If your connection expires or encounters issues:
- Go to Marketing → Google Reviews → Accounts
- Open the affected account
- Click Grant Access again
- Complete the OAuth flow
