Configure Google Reviews Widgets in Magento 2

This guide covers all available widgets in Google Business Reviews. Widgets let you display your Google reviews anywhere in your store - from simple badges to full review carousels.

Available Widgets

Widget	Description
Review Widget	Flexible widget with Sidebar, Small, Plain, and Custom modes
Slider Widget	Sliding review carousel with themes
Floating Widget	Fixed-position badge on screen edge
Badge Widget	Compact rating display
Carousel Widget	Rotating review display
Overview Widget	Full review listing with filters
Sidebar Widget	Compact vertical review display
Textual Widget	Text-focused rating display

Adding Widgets

Go to Content → Elements → Widgets
Click Add Widget
Select widget type (e.g., "Google Reviews Slider")
Select your Design Theme
Click Continue

Storefront Properties

After creating a widget, configure where it appears:

Setting	Description
Widget Title	Admin reference name
Assign to Store Views	Which store views display this widget
Sort Order	Display priority when multiple widgets exist
Layout Updates	Where the widget appears (page, container)

Adding Layout Updates

Click Add Layout Update
Select Display on: All Pages, Specific Page, or Page Type
Select Container: Where on the page (e.g., Main Content Area, Sidebar)
Click Save

Location Filtering

All widgets support the reviews_from_locations parameter to filter reviews by Google Business location. This is useful for multi-location businesses showing location-specific reviews.

The Slider Widget is the most popular choice for showcasing reviews. Here's a detailed setup guide.

Go to Content → Elements → Widgets
Click Add Widget
Select Type: Google Reviews Slider
Select your Design Theme
Click Continue

Step 2: Configure Storefront Properties

Enter a Widget Title (e.g., "Homepage Review Slider")
Select Store Views
Set Sort Order if needed
Add a Layout Update:
- Display on: e.g., "Specified Page" → "CMS Home Page"
- Container: e.g., "Main Content Area"

Theme	Default, Extended, or Full Width
Title	Heading displayed above the slider
Show Summary Block	Display aggregate rating (stars + count)
Total Reviews	Number of reviews to load (e.g., 15)
Visible Reviews	Reviews shown at once (e.g., 3)
Reviews per Scroll	How many scroll per click
Review Text Length	Small, Medium, or Large
Filter Reviews	Latest or Max Rating
Show Dots	Navigation dots below slider
Show Arrows	Left/right navigation arrows
Autoplay	Auto-advance slides
Autoplay Speed	Milliseconds between slides (e.g., 3000)
Custom Breakpoints	Responsive configuration
Reviews from Locations	Filter by specific location(s)

Responsive Breakpoints

Use Custom Breakpoints to control how many reviews show at different screen sizes:

480=1;768=2;1024=3

This means:

Below 480px: 1 review visible
480-768px: 2 reviews visible
Above 1024px: 3 reviews visible
