Get Started with Review Reminder for Magento 2

Get the Product Review Reminder extension running in your Magento 2 store. This guide covers the essential steps to start collecting product reviews through automated invitation emails.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have:

• Review Reminder extension installed
• Admin access to your Magento store
• At least one email template configured (default provided)
• Magento cron running (required for automated emails)

Step 1: Enable the Module

1. Go to Marketing → Review Reminder → Configuration
2. Under General, set Enabled to Yes
3. Click Save Config

Step 2: Create Your First Invitation Profile

Profiles define when and how review invitations are sent.

1. Go to Marketing → Review Reminder → Invitation Profiles
2. Click Add New
3. Configure basic settings:
   • Name: e.g., "Default Profile"
   • Enabled: Yes
   • Store View: Select applicable store(s)
   • Customer Group: Select customer groups
   • Order Status: Select "Complete" (or your preferred status)

Step 3: Configure Email Timing

In your profile, set the email schedule:

First Mail Settings:

• Send After: Number of days after order reaches target status (e.g., 10 days)
• Sent From: Select sender email identity
• Default Template: Select email template

Second Mail Settings (optional):

• Enabled: Yes to send follow-up reminders
• Send After: Days after first email (e.g., 7 days)
• Only if no review: Recommended - skips customers who already reviewed

Step 4: Set Up Automation

1. Go to Marketing → Review Reminder → Configuration
2. Under Configuration → Automation:
   • Order Queue Processing: How often to check for new orders
   • Review Reminder Email Dispatch: How often to send queued emails

Step 5: Verify Setup

Run the self-test to check your configuration:

1. Go to Configuration → Debug & Logging
2. Click Run Self Test
3. Review results for any issues

What Happens Next

Once configured:

1. Orders qualify - New orders matching your profile criteria are detected
2. Queue building - Cron adds qualifying orders to the email queue
3. Email dispatch - After the delay period, invitation emails are sent
4. Review collection - Customers click the link and submit reviews
5. Optional follow-up - Second reminder sent if no review (when enabled)

Monitor Your Queue

View pending invitations at Marketing → Review Reminder → Email Queue:

• See scheduled emails and their status
• Check when emails are scheduled to send
• Monitor which customers have reviewed
